As Vice President and Co-Founder, Jay Dassele brings over 19 years of Multi-Family Management experience. Jay joined Mark-Taylor Residential in 1999 working through onsite and multi-site management operations, prior to joining the executive team as Asset Manager in 2007.  Jay offers his value in versatility, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in virtually all multifamily investment strategies.  During his career, Jay oversaw the lease-up and stabilization of more than 20 Class-A Communities in the Phoenix valley.  Within the broker community, Jay’s onsite teams are often revered as being highly effective and instrumental when communities are marketed for sale.  Among them include Crescent Scottsdale Quarter, a high profile midrise in the Scottsdale that closed at a record-breaking $316K per door.  His tenure at Mark Taylor concluded in 2018 as Sr. Asset Manager, while providing financial oversight for over $650M in assets throughout Metro Phoenix.  Unilaterally, his experience and influence in onsite operations translates to operational harmony onsite and superior culture.   Jay’s philosophy is that creativity exists in all individuals in every level of onsite operations.  He is tenacious in his purpose and believes that teams and team members alike perform to their maximum potential once they are bereft of fear and their individual creativity is fully realized.

Jay is an active participant in the Arizona Multifamily Association (AMA), a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) through the National Apartment Association (NAA) and holds a real estate license with the Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE).


Partner of Stellar Residential, Tanner has more than 15 years of real estate, finance, and management experience. Tanner’s investment track record includes successfully investing in multiple asset classes, in multiple markets, and through different economic cycles. From 2006 until 2010 Tanner was the Director of Real Estate for Black Rock Development, a real estate development company representing more than 44 entities with a real estate portfolio valued at over $550M.

In 2011, Tanner joined a full-service real estate investment and management company that acquired, developed, built and managed over 9,000 units in multifamily communities in the west and mid-western states. Since 2011, Tanner has started three successful companies and has raised over $150,000,000 of non-institutional private equity through high-net-worth accredited investors which resulted in over $350M of asset purchases throughout the United States.

Tanner brings a unique investment perspective to Stellar. Tanner believes what sets management companies apart are those that are not constrained, but instead flexible. First, creating value for our residents, 2nd creating value for the community, 3rd creating value to the property owner, and last but not least creating value to the management company. Creating value in real estate is hard work and our teams approach, intellect, skill sets, experience and overall grit provide our customer’s opportunity and security.

Tanner graduated from Gonzaga University in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing.


Since 2006, Jennie Raye Benson has excelled in numerous roles within the multifamily industry. Among them include administrative support, sales, training, marketing and public relations. Drawing on her retail management and customer service experience, she is responsive and highly effective to the executive team, onsite employees and residents alike. Jennie Raye oversees financial and weekly reporting and distribution, while serving as the key operative in managing company and onsite initiatives and special events. She facilitates the corporate apparel program to ensure the team is professionally outfitted and is passionate about the creation of new initiatives for Stellar Residential. She is an essential component of Stellar’s mission and at the forefront of implementing and sustaining its brand. Jennie Raye Benson studied Psychology and Sociology while attending Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah.


President and Founding Member of Stellar Residential, Dale Phillips, has cultivated one of the most successful careers in property management.  In 1995, he joined Mark-Taylor Residential as Asset Manager before serving as President from 2002-2016.  During his tenure, Dale initiated the company’s growth path for third-party management from 4000 units to 15,000 units, expanding the Arizona-based brand to Nevada, Oregon and Washington markets.  Dale also served as Designated Broker for these states, as well as Arizona.

During his time at Mark-Taylor, the company developed more than 19,000 A-class multifamily units, in addition to providing lease-up services for another 3,500 units for national developers such as Wood Partners, Trammel Crow, Greystone, UBS, Prudential, Lincoln National Life, Smithfield Partners, Boston Capital to name a few.  Dale is recognized for driving the culture of Mark-Taylor which was awarded in 2010 as #1 Best Places to Work in AZ and 2015 #1 Best Places to Work in the USA. Dale is determined to provide the best in customer-care for both Stellar Residential Residents and Clients.  Dale works directly with our clients to ensure their investment goals are met.  Often you may find dale walking Stellar communities with the on-site team identifying ways to enhance the community.  He never hesitates to ask our residents what more Stellar can do to make their stay more enjoyable. Dale is an active member of the AMA and is the Designated Broker for Stellar Residential through the Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE).
